SARA SIMMONS
Raised in Colorado and fed on country and gosple music, Sara's passion for music was born almost instantily. Sara started playing the local honky tonks at an early age. With performances at the world famous Grizzly Rose in Denver Colorado and Red Rocks amphitheatre, Sara set her sights on nothing small. With her dream as large as the music business itself, Sara moved to Nashville, TN.
Along the way, Sara has developed into an emotionally expressive vocalist with a sparliking clear power house voice. In her performances Sara presents a varity of material that carries the audience on journeys ranging from enthusiastic toe tappers, to the numbing heartache ballads of yesterday and today. From the top edge, to the bottom of your broken heart, you will find yourself reliving memories once forgotten.
It's natural that a talent like Sara doesn't go unnoticed. It was Sara's passion for writing explosive gospel songs, and her vision to carry gospel music to a new electrifying sound that drew Molly Dog Records to her. Sara has been performing professionally since she was just twelve, and wrote her first song at thirteen. Influenced by country and gospel greats such as Bill Gaither, The Crabb Family, Connie Smith, Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard, Sara strives to bring back the traditional sound of gospel music and add a touch of class with her hard hitting, high-energy sound.
Sara's first Fan Fair experience was July, 2005. Sara met some great fans! Sara slipped an amazing couple from England her demo CD and the rest is history. Believing so strongly in Sara and her dreams, Bryan and Ann walked Sara into Gruhns Guitars in Nashville, TN. and purchased an accoustic Martin Guitar. "Their support has been so wonderful! They have contacted CMT, GAC and 650 WSM on my behalf. I'm so blessed to have them as a part of my life."
In the spring of 2004 Sara went back into the studio to cut another CD. This CD showcases an array of talent. Songs range from today’s country to yesterday’s standards where her powerhouse voice proves now is the time to shine. Jay Weaver, studio engineer/ bass player for Dolly Parton is quoted stating. “We didn’t use any audio tuning devices, no pitch perfecting tools; it was just pure raw talent. We laid down lead vocals and harmonies in one afternoon.” “Out of everyone in
In August Sara performed in Loveland Colorado at the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo, receiving a standing ovation for her rendition of Patsy Clines “Crazy.” With a strong fan base ranging from Colorado, Mississippi, Louisiana, Iowa and Tennessee, fans are never disappointed.
Sara’s path to “stardom” has already begun. She has performed live with band members ranging from Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker and George Jones. “I’ve been blessed to meet some wonderful people and being backed by some of the Grand ol’ Opry’s finest always sends shivers down my spine.”
